Monday, March 28, 2022 at 5:30 a.m.: The Atlantic Council will host the World Energy Forum 2022. The World Energy Forum is an annual three-day event that brings together the world’s top energy and foreign policy decision makers to set the global energy agenda for the year ahead and consider the geopolitical and geoeconomic implications for more long-term evolution of the energy system. The forum is organized in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, ADNOC and Mubadala. The forum is also under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces.

Tuesday March 29, 2022 at 2 p.m.: The Senate Committee on Security and Cooperation in Europe hold a hearing on opposition to Russian imperialism in Ukraine and beyond. The committee will hear testimony from General Phillip Breedlove (retired), senior fellow at the Center for European and Transatlantic Studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology; Michael Kimmage, member of the German Marshall Fund of the United States; and Miriam Lanskoy, senior director for Russia and Eurasia at the National Endowment for Democracy.

Wednesday March 30, 2022 at 2 p.m.: The House Homeland Security Committee hold a hearing on securing critical infrastructure against Russian cyber threats. The committee will hear from Adam Meyers, senior vice president for intelligence at Crowdstrike; Steve Silberstein, CEO of Financial Services-ISAC; and Kevin Morely, federal relations manager at the American Water Works Association.

Wednesday March 30, 2022 at 2 p.m.: The Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on East Asia, the Pacific and International Cybersecurity hold a hearing on the attack on freedom of expression in Asia. The committee will hear from Maria Ressa, co-founder of Rappler; Joey Siu, political adviser for Hong Kong Watch; and Sarah Cook, research director for China, Hong Kong and Taiwan at Freedom House.

Thursday March 31, 2022 at 2 p.m.: The House Foreign Affairs Committee hold a hearing on current challenges and progress on coronavirus in Africa. The committee will hear from Mokgweetsi Masisi, President of the Republic of Botswana; Ahmed Ogwell, deputy director of the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; and Patrick Soon-Shiong, founder and executive chairman of NantWorks.

Thursday March 31, 2022 at 2:30 p.m.: The Brookings Institution host a event to discuss the challenges of ocean governance and the future of the law of the sea. The event will include a panel discussion. Panelists include: Brookings Senior Researcher Bruce Jones; Melanie W. Sisson, Brookings Fellow; Lindsey W. Ford, former Brookings expert; and David Bosco, associate professor of international studies at Indiana University.

Friday, April 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.: The Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University host a panel discussion on content moderation in an end-to-end encrypted world. Panelists include: Riana Pfefferkorn of the Stanford Internet Observatory; Ryan Polk of the Internet Society; and Mallory Knodel of the Center for Democracy and Technology.
