Lambert named employee of the month for September at WIU

September 23, 2021

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University Director of Creative and Marketing Services Jessica Lambert was named Public Service Employee of the Month by Al and Elaine Goldfarb for September 2021.

Lambert started working at WIU in 2010 as a Web I Specialist in University Relations. She was reassigned by audit as Webmaster in 2011. In June 2017, her title was changed to Creative Digital Integration Associate and again in August 2017 to Creative and Digital Integration Manager via an audit. She was appointed to her current title in May 2020.

According to Lambert’s proponent, her approach to potential students and families, her work to ensure that both campuses are represented equally, and the work she does in the community makes her essential.

“Countless people across campus have commented on her positive, vibrant attitude and that she really cares about her alma mater,” her nominee said. “Jessica started a clean up at the front of Sherman Hall which is an example of her going above and beyond her professional duties. She knew the facilities were understaffed and she spent her time finding volunteers, weeding flower beds and mulching. This act illustrates his dedication to WIU. “

Lambert’s nominator added that she created a community presence for WIU at the annual Heritage Days celebration, securing space and volunteers for a college booth in Chandler Park.

“Jessica’s efforts to ensure that WIU is well represented in the outside world and internally are appreciated,” her nominator concluded.

In August 2010, the Goldfarbs created an endowment to permanently fund the University’s Civil Service Employee of the Month award. The Goldfarb Endowment is used to fund a $ 100 award for the Public Service Employee of the Month recipient, as well as a plaque.

The WIU Foundation offers a stipend of $ 500 to the Public Service Employee of the Year. Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for monthly recognition should contact the Council of Civil Service Employees (CBSC) at csec-nominations-g @
